(From the V-Day.org website:) V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery.

The Bot Mitzvah is currently seeking donations of robot-themed artwork from local artists of all media. Artists are allowed to contribute any number of pieces they wish, as long as the works adhere to the theme of the event and reflect the woman-positive spirit of V-Day.org. We would also like artists to note that this is a benefit event, and if their works are auctioned off, the funds will go directly to the charity. In other words, all submissions will be considered donations to V-Day.org. All unsold auction items will either be auctioned off at a later, similar event, or donated to local organizations aiding in the battle to keep women safe from abuse. Arrangements can be made, as well, for the artist to keep their unsold piece(s).

This is an excellent opportunity for local artists to show their work, meet other artists who share their passion, and be a part of a fun, exciting summer event with a compassionate and important cause.

To donate art to the event, please contact Sarah with your name, age, organization/school (if applicable), number of pieces, and media. You will be contacted to confirm your participation, and reserve your discounted ticket to the event.

Deadline for submissions: July 1st
Drop-off for artwork @ Dog Story Theater's interim performance space (311 State St. SE): July 24th
Event date: July 26th
