Our client is seeking a multi-unit retail District Manager in Training to assist the District Manager in increasing revenue, maximizing profit through sales, operations and marketing as well as assisting the District Manager in the field management and supervision of the district with assigned locations within the market. This is a key FAST TRACK position reporting directly into the District Manager while engaging in training to ultimately oversee a given number of locations within a specified geographic district as a District Manager within the year.
SUMMARY:
District Manager in Training assists the District Manager in leading and managing the district through establishing and maintaining locations, hiring, training and evaluating district associates. Shares responsibility with the District Manager to ensure that policies and procedures are implemented and followed in each supervised location to increase revenues, control expenses and promote client satisfaction through a consistent positive experience.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor degree in Business or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Bilingual skills are a required for this opportunity (SPANISH / ENGLISH)
· 3 to 4 years experience in a District Manager position within a multi-unit retail environment (Managing 14+ locations with 150+ associates/employees) requiring different levels of education, experience and skill set OR have had experience in Big Box Retail as a Store Manager

Essential Responsibilities:
• Assume the role of floor manager, and act as a role model for proper adherence to Modern Skate & Surf standards
• Contribute to the development of staff, shift leaders and fellow assistants by offering regular feedback. Implement training programs
• Ensure that health and safety guidelines are met, including proper functioning of store equipment
• Demonstrate ownership of the store by ensuring cleanliness, organization and attractiveness of store’s interior and exterior through scheduling of staff and outside vendors
• Ensure the timely communication of essential information to staff, co-managers and upper management personnel. Maintain confidentiality where appropriate
• Recognize and respond to performance issues with store manager approval, following Modern Skate & Surf’s disciplinary guidelines
• Ensure proper staffing levels without exceeding payroll cost budget
• Analyze business performance and implement action plans to improve
Qualifications Include:
• Minimum 1-2 years of retail management/supervisory experience and/or related experience and training. Customer service experience is a must
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of experience and instruction; Associate’s Degree preferred
• Knowledge of the retail industry
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills
• Experience in an environment requiring multi-tasking and prioritizing is essential
• Experience in improving customer service, teaching customers about products, improving inventory system efficiency, and/or improving processes is essential
