Offered is a fabulous portrait of General George Armstrong Custer. Born Dec. 5th, 1839 in New Rumley, Ohio and of course died at the battle of Little Big Horn, Montana, June 25th, 1876 at the age of only 32. He fought in many Civil War battles including Bull Run, Antietam, and Gettysburg. Custer was brevetted Brigadier General of the Michigan Volunteers at age 23! Later he commanded forces during the American Indian Wars. He graduated from West Point 34th out of a class of 34. General Custer was present at Lee’s surrender to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox on April 9th, 1865. Arguably one of our county's most famous & greatest generals.
