Vintage Record Collection - Used - $45 (Wyoming)

12345

media type: vinyl

A wide variety of 33, 45 and 78 RPM records from dear mom's collection.

33RPM Artists include: Sammy Davis Jr, Barbara Streisand, Count Bassie, Simon & Garfunkel, Carly Simon, Andy Williams, Bobby Vee, Frank Sinatra, Henry Mancini, Ferrante and Teischer, The Beach Boys and the Carpenters. Some eclectic albums with Halloween, Christmas, Hawaiian sounds, Big Band & other Jazz, My Fair Lady (Harrison and Hepburn) etc. are also included. These albums are in their original covers and one Carpenters album is unopened. The covers range in condition from mostly good with a few being in rough shape.

Approx number of 33 records is 44 and there is an empty Carpenters Album Cover. We sampled about 6 albums and they all sounded fine, with no scratches. For obvious reasons, we didn't listen to them all.

45RPM includes an eclectic set of artists probably mainly from the 50s and 60s (Grandma's). These do not come in their original sleeves but are included in red albums (with yellowing paper sleeves). These have not been listened to. Approx number of 45 records is 36.

A few of the more popular 45s are:
Elvis - Crying in the Chapel / I Believe
Elvis - Don't Be Cruel / Hound Dog
The Chipmunks - The Chipmunk Song / Almost Good
Bobby Darin - Mack The Knife / Was There a Call For Me
Tennessee Ernie Ford - Sixteen Tons / You Don't have to be a cry baby
Bobby Vinton - Clinging Vine / Imagination Is A Magic Dream
ANNETTE FUNICELLO - PINEAPPLE PRINCESS/LUAU CHA CHA CHA
Andrea Carroll - It Hurts To Be Sixteen / Why am I so Shy

The 78 RPM collection includes 5 10" mainly Christmas songs (I'll be Home For Christmas - Bing Crosby, Frosty the Snowman/Rudolph, Jingle Bells/White Christmas-Sinatra). These do not have their original sleeves but are in a tattered Bing Crosby (Decca A550) album with several 78 sleeves (it looks like only one of the original records belongs with the sleeve). We did not listen to any of these.

There is also a 78 that is a 7" (same size as 45): BING CROSBY "BECAUSE"

A cursory glance on eBay reveals many of these 78s and 45s go for well over $5 each.
