This is a large “gateleg” table with 5 drawers and a cabinet space, all as deep as the desk itself. The right side swings out like a gate to hold that drop leaf and accompanies enough space for a standard office chair. The left drop leaf is held up by the piece sitting on top. It needs to be affixed again as the two brackets holding it in place rusted away. My cat unfortunately did a number to the front in the long period I held on to it. Could probably be sanded down.
