JOB DESCRIPTION
This Data Entry/Laboratory Technician (DLT) job entails front office/data entry responsibilities and laboratory work. This is an ideal position for applicants who enjoy a combination of desk work and physical movement. This is a highly collaborative position. Most responsibilities will be performed by working closely with other team members. All tasks are performed to provide the most accurate data, highest level of customer service, and meet daily production deadlines.
Hours of operation are M-F, 9-5. The Part-Time DLT position shifts are typically 5-6 hrs per day, 3-5 days per week. The hours are ideal for those who prefer to work a partial day each workday, with shift end typically by mid-afternoon.
All work is performed onsite. Applicants are strongly recommended to live within short commute of our location in Kentwood (49512).
NOTE: We are seeking applicants for a PERMANENT, LONG-TERM commitment. We are an OIL ANALYSIS LAB. We are NOT seeking applicants seeking an internship or to further a computer/IT, analyst, or medical/health related career or to supplement their education in these fields.
HOURS FOR THIS POSITION: 3-5 days per week, 5-6 hours per day (Business hours are M-F, 9-5)
PAY: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience, Paid time off, Sick days.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to):
• Follow operating procedures precisely and consistently as outlined by management
• Receive incoming fluid samples: receive shipments, open shipments, clean and prepare samples for laboratory
• Enter customer and sample information into database efficiently and accurately to meet daily goals
• Communicate professionally with customers via email and phone
• Provide excellent customer support
• Operate and maintain test instruments
• Efficiently and accurately process test samples to meet daily deadlines
• Maintain clean work areas and restock
• Additional duties as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Prior data entry experience (10-key proficient)
• Strong typing skills (speed with high accuracy)
• Self-motivated and organized
• Excellent customer support skills
• Prior lab or production experience preferred
• Energetic and enjoys collaborating with a team
• Be willing to work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to petroleum products, fumes, odors, mists, and dusts
• Wear PPE as required
• Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task to manage continuous workflow
• Ability to work with sufficient speed, accuracy, and attention to detail to perform job functions as required
• Basic math skills
• Lift or move up to 50 lbs
• Visual acuity with ability to distinguish colors
• Able to work standing for extended periods of time; bending, stretching, kneeling, and lifting
• Proficient on PC, including MS Office and database programs
